Hi,
I am working on some embedded system development projects. I am
interested in the work, but some times I feel that I need to re-visit
some knowledge. The processor we are using is PowerPC. My job is to
develop some software tools to help system designer.

I graduated over 10 years ago and I pretty much did application
software development. I come to embedded just recently. Cache, bus,
ISA, ISR, etc. are still familiar, so when I first came to this
project, there is little resistense after some warm-up.

Now with the depth of our tool going deeper and deeper, there are
more and more processor technology comming to me, but I am not very
well prepared, such as in-depth knowledge pipeline, cache locking,
cache coherency, etc.

I located the D. Patterson and J Hennessy book at the corner of my
bookcase, but with so much work to do at work time, I can not find a
whole lot time in studying it.

I think the best for me is to find some trainging class, 3 - 5 days,
just for people like me. Thus I can concetrate on the problem.

I wonder if there are some good processor arch trainign class which
suits my needs?

Any suggestion is highly appreciated.

I found this site linked on IBM's web site.

http://www.technonics.com/powerpc.htm

that might be of interest. Otherwise you might check your local
university extension service for short courses.
