Hi
The NetApp disk reports 520 byte block size.
Windows does'nt like that and "Not allowing to format the drive"
Does any one know if there is some tool to format it so that windows
can see it as 512 byte partition size.

Like in linux there is SCU(scsi command uitlity).

regards

Before going in and hacking the disk, I would investigate why is it
reporting block size as 520.
You are not the first person to use Netapp disks with Windows.
Do you due diligence before using a sledgehammer on that disk.

Hi,

Any chance it's coming from an IBM AS/400 (iSeries called nowadays)? They
use 520 bytes per sector.

Regards,
Alvin.

520byte formatting certainly use to be a hallmark of EMC Clariion, could the
disk have come from there?
