Hi,

Can anybody help me out in finding directly the volume flag information of a
simple volume in Win2k3 system using diskraid.exe or diskpart.exe provided
by VDS.
Thanks in advance.

Regards

You could use diskpart.exe and use the "Detail Volume" command to list the
volume attributes. You might want to review the following KB article for
more details:

Thank you a lot for this reply.

Actually i am in a confused state.

I don't have any hardware provider installed on my Windows 2003 system.

I have written a sample program to make use of the VDS API. The purpose of
this program is to query for the volume flag information using the Microsoft
Windows software provider.

When i compare the output of my program with the enum value VDS_VOLUME_FLAG
in vds help file
it does not match with it. exp: I am getting the output as 0x00080687

This value is combination of following flags.

PERMANENT DISMOUNT SUPPORTED= 0x80000

INSTALLABLE= 0x400

CRASHDUMP' = 0x200

PAGEFILE= 0x80

ACTIVE= 0x4

BOOT VOLUME=0x2

SYSTEM VOLUME= 0x1

Now diskpart.exe does not provide the above flags.

So i want to know if there is a way of getting the vflag information the way
VDS help provides.
