The storage server license does not allow it to be a domain controller.

My company just got a new IBM server with Server 2003 appliance edition
preloaded onto it. As far as i know this is what is called a storage
server. My question is this... can this server be made into a domain
controller on our nt domain environment?
If so please elaborate if you can, if not please elaborate as well.
I have had no previous exposure to a Storage server so please forgive
me :)
Thanks in advance for any advice.
