ISAPI.dll and Web Server |
|
|
Does the Windows Storage Server 2003 support ISAPI.dll?
And
Can the Windows Storage Server function as a Web Server to deploy
applications?
Unfortunately, there is very little information in the Storage Server white
papers I have read and any/all information somebody could provide would be
appreciated.

The license does not allow WSS2k3 to function as an application server. It
is licensed for file serving & related activities (e.g. Virus scanning,
backups, etc.). IIS is available on the box, but it is used for
Administration & WebFolders only.

You could deploy your application using webfolders or CIFS / NFS sharing.
Typcially you can read white papers on Windows 2003 server for file sharing,
and they will apply to WSS2003. The big advantage to WSS2003 is you don't
need CAL's.
