partitioning multiple discs |
|
|
We just recently had a computer repaired and formatted, but it has two 100GB
hard drives, and before the repairs they were both listed under one partition
as C:.
In my attempts to merge the two discs, Disc 0 is now a dynamic disc with 8MB
of unassigned space (it began as a basic disc as the primary partition).
Disc 1 is an unassigned basic disc and I can change it to a dynamic disc and
back, but now that I have (accidentally) made Disc 0 into a dynamic disc I
can't change it back.
My ultimate goal is to get both of the discs combined into one partition
without messing up Windows (basic or dynamic disc doesn't matter). Can
anyone help me? |

You can delete the partition on disk 1, and grow the volume on disk 0 onto
disk 1. This would be disc spanning. I wouldn't recommend this unless
there was hardware RAID protecting it.
