I'm trying to install iSCSI Initiator 2.0 on a Win2k Server. After you
execute the install it hangs at 1/4 of the install and dosen't promt you of
any error messages. I left it last night to see if it would complete, only
to find it this morning in the same spot. I made sure all win updates are
installed and downloaded any more that I didn't see.

Box Config: Del PE2600 / Win2k Server w-SP4 / 2800 Xeon x2 / 2gig mem / raid
5.
no errors in event log partainig to this install.

look at iscsi200.log and iscsiins.log in your Windows directory. If the
reason isn't obvious, you may need to open a support case with Microsoft.

Thank you for the response,

What I have done so far and seems to work was rebooted in safe mode. I ran
the installation for the iSCSI Initiator and it installed just fine. Now my
server boot up sloooow as a dog. but I can live with it for a minute. Just
waiting for event logs to generate to check for the slowness. perhaps DNS?

One reason for a slow boot is that you've setup persistent volumes, but the
disks underlying the volumes aren't reconnecting. Check the system eventlog
for any timeout errors or warnings.
