2000 server is detecting only 128 GB of 250 GB hard disk. is there any patch
or something which would enable it to see the entire hard disk???

After the install you can apply the reghack in this article.
48-Bit LBA Support for ATAPI Disk Drives in Windows 2000

I'm having the same problem with 2000 pro. I already enabled 48-bit LBA
large-disk support in the registry but it doesn't make any difference as I
still cannot make use of a larger drive. Is there any other modification
that needs to be made or is there any other way to allow larger drives to
work with 2000?

Your problem may be a limitation or setup of the hardware. Check the drive
controller or mobo manufacturer's web site for instructions and or updated
firmware.

It is recognizing only 233.76GB now. Though it is better than earlier...Why
is it not recognizing 250GB. Where is the 16GB lost? Does windows use the
memory for any other purpose??

when you buy a hard drive, the vendor calculates 250GB capacity as
250*1000*1000*1000 bytes - this is traditional and it makes the disk seem
bigger ;). Windows however uses a "more proper" binary calculation where 1GB
= 1024 * 1024 * 1024.
So if you divide 250,000,000,000 / (1024 *1024 * 1024) you get 232.8 "GB"
which is very close to what you are seeing (looks like you have a 251GB
drive after all!). Windows will reserve up to 8MB at the end of the disk.
