Hello,

how can I verify the integrity (all sectors of all drives belonging to the
volume are readable - also those with parity information with RAID 5 - and
are consistent) of a redundant (RAID 1/5) volume?

Reason: It's useful to break mirrors before making important changes (for
example system / application updates) to have a quick desaster recovery
solution. I had the case that I could not resync mirrors because some secors
of the source drive were defect. I would like to lock out this failure
(which could also occur when one harddrive completly fails and the remaining
has a few bad sectors) possibility by performing regular / on demand
integrity checks.

Kind regards,

Frank
