Shadow Copy Fix QFE 833167 |

I read a few postings regarding issues with Shadow copy. We are running
W2003 NAS cluster (DEll) and before establishing our volume sets and shares
with Shadow copy I'd like to apply the fix. No luck finding it on MS web
site. Can someone help me find it or send it to me.

Essentially, if you have not been affected by any of the problems listed,
you should wait to apply.
If this is Windows Storage Server 2003, Dell is probably the correct first
contact.

Hi Mark,
I'm very in need of this fix: reading whole article I now understand why
NTbackup failed shadow-backupping open virtual machines in a customer
VMware GSX server (reason1: Volume Shadow Copy Service Writer Time-out).
But in the article there is no download link as I can see. How can I get
it?

From the KB, looks like the only way to get it is to go through the support
channels and let them know you are having issues detailed in the KB. I would
guess it would be a no-charge incident (but don't quote me on that ;-) )
"Note In special cases, charges that are ordinarily incurred for support
calls may be canceled if a Microsoft Support Professional determines that a
specific update will resolve your problem. The usual support costs will
apply to additional support questions and issues that do not qualify for the
specific update in question."
