Recovering a broken SNAP server? |
|
|
I have a SNAP Server which won't reboot properly. Usually it will end
up in the Recovery Console. This allows me to Upgrade/Repair my OS
(which I've tried but doesn't help) or blow away my data (which I'm
loath to do).
So far as I can tell from the diags below it's still able to access the
filesystems. I'd settle for getting some kind of console access to it
so that I could extract the data. But it disables the keyboard/screen
on bootup, and I don't know another way to get into it.
Any suggestions?

Re: Recovering a broken SNAP server? |
|
|
Well, I can attach a USB floppy. But I'd need the right boot image for the
floppy, I think?
<eh@dataconnection.com> wrote in message
news:1132579495.082558.147570@g49g2000cwa.googlegroups.com...

So, I can attach a USB floppy, boot up, and see the top-level OS partition
with the kernel on it. But I can't mount any of the other file systems,
perhaps because they're RAID.
It also looks like the stuff that disables the keyboard/screen is actually
built into the kernel - so there's not much scope of stopping it doing that.
