Is there a How-To on migrating NFS users onto WSS? We'd like to migrate away from Samba and onto our HP NAS but it seems that we need to install something on the Domain controllers in order to map Unix user accounts to Windows. Unfortunately the enterprise is resisting any change or install of agents on the DC's. Currently we utilize the usermap file. Can a file like this be utilized on the NAS?

Additionally, how are the Unix file systems migrated to the NAS? This is a big task considering the different security models and file system structure. What are our options?

Hi Greg,

here is a link to a migration whitepaper:

hope it will be helpful to you.
