I'm looking for good information on how to record and verify a hosts I/O on SAN connected storage.

Currently connected W2K with two dual HBA's to an EMC symmetrix SAN. Powerpath is loaded and reporting, but I have my doubts about what I'm seeing. I see, with a HP DL380 that the agent is reporting 2000 IOPS (the HBAs are load-balanced) but I only expected about 1000 peak. I'm wondering if I'm seeing what's sent to the agent and not what is actually happening at the hardware so I want to verify my results with another utility. I don't trust my storage team to understand the host OS and provide good information, so I ask the questions in hopes I can at least lead the conversation to resolution with them. Has anyone done this and have any suggestions etc for verifying what I'm seeing?
I have looked at some Microsoft docs that mention looking at queue length and read/write times, but I'm looking for more detailed information if its available.

Thanks,

Try using perfmon on windows server. You should be able to look at IOP, IOS and qdepth etc. Also are you using Mirosoft raid to create a volume or using EMC's solution

Thanks. I'm using the emc solution to handle that. Additionally, I let EMC only present the volume size I want to use. I expect that the san will provide the availability and reliability I need, so I don't want to take cpu for that process.

I'll take a look at those counters. Thanks,
