grounded? as in electrically connected to the ground? if so then no,
i'm on the first floor (or maybe in your country you would call that
the second floor). and i can't really close the window on the wire
anyways, due to the shape of the window thing.
The window frame could be connected to earth in some way. A #30 enameled
wire is less than 1/64th of an inch in diameter. Surely, you have room
for that! A bare #22 wire (a pretty standard size for radio work) is
about 1/40th of an inch, also no problem if the frame has weather
stripping. You need to keep some perspective.
oh, the wire i was thinking about using is very rigid and about half a
millimeter thick. where do you find those wires?

Do you mean half a centimeter? half a millimeter is about #24.
Half-centimeter wire (~#4) is used for cheap jumper cables.
As to where to get wire: where would you go to get a capacitor or
resistor? Electronic-grade solder? I don't know stores in your neighborhood.

I mean half a millimeter, but thats an estimate. the main issue is
rigidness tho.

SoftRock6 ?
I just ordered the DSS-60 myself.
If not for anything else, then as a test transmitter, for testing
receivers etc.

All right, Ill wait until SoftRock 6 then. I have no idea when it might
come out tho, ill check regularly. |

Half-millimeter wire should press right into the weatherstripping that's
undoubtedly built into a metal window frame. You can pre bend it if
rigidity seems to be a problem. but if you've ever closed a window on a
finger, you know how easily a window can bend things. Let's look at the
clock instead of trying to deduce what time it is. If your wire is
really under a millimeter, stick a piece out the window, slam the window
on it, and see what happens.
