Hi, Rick.
That TIF folder does not follow the normal rules for the file system!
The best way to manage TIF is from Internet Explorer's Tools | Internet
Options... In the middle of the first (General) tab, there is a section for
Temporary Internet Files. From here, you can do several things, including
deleting those files. You can click the Settings... button to move them to
a different location, but this usually involves exiting IE and starting it
again.
Another setting that I've found useful, especially since getting broadband,
is on the Advanced tab. Scroll way down to the Security heading and check
the box to Empty Temporary Internet Files folder when browser is closed.
If you completely delete the TIF folder, IE will simply rebuild it the next
time it runs. So a good way to solve your dilemma would be to use Settings
to create a new TIF in a new location. Then exit IE. And then open a "DOS"
window and delete every other TIF that you can find. But rather than Del,
use rd (Remove Directory) with the /s option to remove the TIF folder and
its entire tree, subdirectories (including Content.IE5), files and all, in
one fell swoop. (The /s option makes rd a powerful command, so be sure
you're aim is good when you use it.)
