I'm a student. I just bought a PCM4896 for a project. I'm going to add
a new video card, so I don't need a cable for the VGA. The power
connector is a standard ATX. I do, however, need to use the USB and
both PS/2 ports. Unfortuantely the used board I have has no cables with
it. The manual at
http://www.tri-m.com/products/aaeon/files/manual/pcm4896_man.pdf
specifies the following pins for the PS/2 header (it's 4x2 with 1-4 in
the first column and 5-8 in the second):

Pin Signal Pin Signal
1 KB DATA
2 GND
3 Mouse DATA
4 N/C
5 KB CLOCK
6 VCC5
7 Mouse CLOCK
8 N/C

These are the pins for the 4x2 USB 1.1 port header, which is the same
arrangement (two ports):

1 GND
2 USBD1+
3 USBD1-
4 Vcc
5 Vcc
6 USBD0-
7 USBD0+
8 GND

Does anyone know where I can find *cheap* cables for these (like a few
bucks each). If not, where can I get crimp or solder style plugs for
these headers. If I follow the DIY option, to I need to add any
resistors in-line with any of the pins on the headers? Any info I can
get would be appreciated and very helpful.

If anyone has anything used that they'd be willing to give me, I'd be
more than happy to PayPal cash for shipping and a few bucks for the
cable.

I take it this is a 2mm connector. I can probably find you something,
though you'll have to tweak around a bit (pull pins out and reinsert
them in different holes in the shroud). USB is no problem (I have 2mm
to two USB cables already); for the other one you will probably have to
clip a larger shroud down. Email me to remind me.

Thanks, I got the cables. I appreciate it.

I have one more quick question if anyone can answer it, though. I need
to connect 5 or 6 wires to pins on the parallel port header. The
PCM-4896 manual has a pinout, but the pin numbers on the header aren't
marked. The 26 pin parallel port header is keyed like this:

0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0
0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0
######## ########

Does anyone have any idea how the pin numbering is arranged?

Use your multimeter to determine where the long run of ground pins is.

Thanks - that's a good tip. Where would they be grounded to on the
board, though? Can I just assume that the ground on the parallel port
header is connected to the ground on the ATX power connector?
