Hi!

I got one harddrive with two NTFS partions. After a crash of WindowsXP I
had to reboot and a bluescreen with chkdsk appears. C: and D: were
scanned. After another reboot only D: was checked again. Now every time
I boot the computer chkdsk wants to check my D: drive.

Since the drive is very big (70 GB) this takes a lot of time.
Furthermore I can't defrag the drive because it is marked as "dirty" (as
described above). How can I remove this "dirty flag" since I know from
chkdsk that the drive is clean? Apparently chkdsk won't remove it. Is
there another way to do so?

Thanks for any answer.

Gregor

Try booting from the CD, start up the Repair Console, and run chkdsk from
there.
