Does anyone know of a vendor selling a WSS 2003-based nas, with the data
drive slots free (i.e., OS mirrored, two drives only)? Would love to find
this in a setup where I could specify my own drives.

for a list of OEMs and resellers.

I don't believe any OEMs offer that configuration.
