z plane design |

i'm designing a simple filter by means of z-plane design
BUT
i cannot create a transfer function
this is what i have and cannot evaluate to remove the j's
(z-cos@-jsin@)(z-j)
i've been reading strouds futher mathematics for engineering all morning
and cant figure it out
the last one i had was
(z-cos@-jsin@)(z-cos@+jsin@)
which by using trigonometric identites
i got
z^2-2zcos@+1
which was the answer i was looking for
if someone would be kind enough to help me out with this or point me i
the right direction i would really appreciate it
