$BadClus:$Bad:$DATA |

15,285,177 clusters are in C:\$BadClus:$Bad:$DATA, C: being an NTFS
volume on a relatively new (1 y.o.) Seagate Barracuda EIDE drive. This
file is said to be a list of bad clusters on the drive.
How may I best recover the data in those clusters?
Which utilities may best assist me with this?
How may I best test the drive to see what's going on and be assured
this isn't turning into another IBM DeathStar?
Is this an artifact of some other process?
Could this be an NTFS software problem?
Thank you kindly, all, for your on-topic responses. |

I'd download and run a disk diagnostic utility from the drive manufacturer's
web site.
