Migration |
|
|
For all you administrators currently using a NAS/SAN solutions, how did you
do your migration from your previous DAS connected servers? Specifically
what tools did you use to address the server redirection to the new server
and how did you handle the workstation-side issues of correcting pointers,
shortcuts, OLE, security and similar issues?
We are in the process of examining server consolidation options and one of
my roles is to get a handle on the migration issues? Like yourselves I'm
planning to attend TechEd2004 and wouldn't mind meeting administrators in
the same situation and those who are in the migration process or have just
completed this migration task. I have visited Microsoft's site already.
Thanks in advance to those who plan to reply! |

Here is an article that I did on Migrating to SAN/NAS from DAS...

Here is a whitepaper around migrating from NT4 to Win2003 (although the same
prinicples apply)

And if you want any other reading (to help you go to sleep) mostly around
data replication, check out www.jasonbuffington.com
