I saw the discussion on not being able to install SQL server on Storage Server 2003, but can I put a database on it? How might performance be impacted on it.... Thinking to run SQL on another server, expecting a rather large image/ OCR database. The server/ NAS would have a 1 GB link between the two devices. Any Pros/Cons to this

You can, but it isn't recommended. See KB Article Q304261 (has scalability,
stability, and backup/restore issues spelled out).
