storage server terminal services |
|
|
In 2000 Server, Terminal Server allowed you to install in
application mode or remote admin mode. In remote admin
mode, unlike application mode, TS wasn't limited to 120
days.
In 2003, I only see how to preinstall in per device or
per user mode, both which appear to expire in 120 days.
Is there some further licensing required in 2003 or is
there the equivalent of 2000's administration mode
Basically I need to make sure the storage server admin component that uses remote desktop/TS doesn't expire
Thanks once again |

You don't "install" it (remote admin, that is) in 2k3; it's already there. Something like the Remote tab of the
properties of My Computer??

When you try to install Termininal Services on a Win2003 box, you should see
a really big dialog box pop up and say "If you only want remote management,
do not install this. This screen is only for Application-based terminal
services" (or something like that).
TermSvc for remote admin is native to Win2003 (I believe it maxes at 2
connections). Although you might have to enable it, there is no install,
per se.
