OT: Excellent working environment. Which companies? |
|
|
Hello,
I was wondering which companies you guys would recommend to work for?
I am looking for a companies with great working environment, decent pay and
a nice,
relaxed atmosphere...if that's possible?
I don't care where the company is located as long as the weather is nice and
warm.

I'd say BAE Systems in Santa Clara, formerly United Defense.
Relationships are cordial and professional, no politics. In fact,
colleagues all agree that even when they don't like the job they're
doing, they really like working with the people in the company.

Weather here is usually nice, not always warm, but never so cold
that it freezes.

Your own company.
Working environment depends on what you make of it. Pay is, ahem,
variable. Requires good financial discipline. Atmosphere is nice but not
always relaxed, especially not if a client has production problems and
it's just a couple weeks 'til quarter end.
Weather, well, it's ok out here in Northern California. If I had the
choice I'd rather be in Hawaii but then the closest client would be a
four hour flight away. A little Caribbean island would be nice but then
you've got to learn another language, plus maybe Patois. Maybe some day...
Regards, Joerg

I wonder what kind of reaction you get when you interview with that list
of demands.
The rest of us, well, with the job market what it is we pretty much have
to take what we can get.

For a DSP Engineer or Embedded Software Engineer, this kind of
companies are located only in dreams. Therefore the best way to get
them is to get a good nap.....
Enjoy..

Jake,
If you want to be taken seriously anywhere, get rid of the

Okay, I hate to be doing this on a public forum but I will still becaus
its a question worth answering
Sasken communications technology(India Offices, atleast) is one of fines
companies that I have come across.THE best employer that I have seen in m
life time- the work atmosphere and culture is quite amazing. Their system
and process are so well riguored and so *fair* that no *one* engineer end
up doing the hard yard alone. I have seen many engineers from Sasken takin
sabbaticals(few weeks) and hybernation(few months) in Sasken that I hav
wondered if there is any other company in the world that encourages som
of their senior most engineers to take off not risk their dead-lines! The
practice - in my opinion - one of the best soft-ware engineering proces
model for embedded systems.
--Bhooshan
Disclaimer: I dont work for Sasken.
ps:I can understand why there will not be many replies to this question
The reason is simply that experienced engineers dont like to be talkin
about former employers, current employers, partners, principals, vendors et
in a public forum. |
