Read Only Attribute on Program Folders |
|
|
I have a Application that installs in C:\Program Files\IMR.
The folder is Flagged "Read Only". I am attempting to
change this without any luck! Everytime I press OK - the
attribute reverts back to "Read Only"
Could anyone please shed some light on this new 2003
feature!
Regards,
Hendrik
PS. I have to write changes to this folder from accross
the network! |

That isn't a problem. It's a "known issue" and doesn't affect your security
settings. You control security via share permissions and/or NTFS
security....

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;326549, but again,
it really shouldn't matter.

OT, but why the Program Files directory? I tend to dislike applications that
want to put data files in the application folder..... |
