Access Denied Error Message on Shared Folders |
|
|
New domain controller. I setup two folders for sharing, one called
Departmental and the other called Home. Both have same structure with two sub
folders, one called Private, the other called Public. I added user accounts,
created departmental groups and added users to respective groups. For
example, Sales folder in Departmental has Public and Private. Everyone has
access to public, only members of the Sales group should have access to
private. Works good so far. I log into domain from a test machine using test
account that is part of Sales Group. I can browse to Public and Private. I
access private OK but when I attempt to create a new folder, it says Access
Denied. Same message creating folders in Public as well. What gives?? Have
become red-eyed pouring over TechNet and am no clueless. Thanks. |

Make sure you verify permissions for these group are based on the domain
user accounts. Make sure whne you verify the permissions that you are
verifying both share permissions and NTFS permissions. When dealing with
connecting to a shared folder over the network both sets of permissions are
evaluated and the most restricted of the "effective" permissions between
the 2 will be in effect.

check your permissions.. make shure you have checked full read and write
