Printing Permissions |

Is there anyway to lock down a PDF file so that it cannot
be printed on our windows 2003 server?

Probably nothing bombproof, but check your PDF writer app to see what
security settings you can apply when creating the PDF. It won't be anything
you can control in the file system/Windows security. If they can open/read a
file, they can print it, copy it elsewhere, etc...

go out and buy adobe acrobat reader professional it has the tools in it that
will enable only a person with the password to read it.. and thus you can
make this any password you want.. try that and let me know |

That likely won't stop them from printing it, though, which is the original
question... |

it will stop them from printing it, for in order for you to open it you need
the password otherwise it will not display the page or allow you to print it |

Yes, but I understood the OP's original goal to be to create a PDF file that
people could read but not print.
Otherwise, why give them access to the PDF file at all? |
