User home permissions - Need HELP!!! |
|
|
Hi;
We have created a share of a 2003 server that contains
user homes. The home is created at the first logon. We
thought the user homes are going to belong to the domain
user only, like roaming profile folders. However, I've
just discovered that users can read/write/delete each
others data. BIG TROUBLE!
How can I restore this to full rights for the owner and
admin, and no rights for oter users, unless explicilty
granted?
NOTE: I have about 730 live user homes!
Cheers, Bob |

See http://support.microsoft.com?kbid=817009
If a user is the owner of their folder,
reset permission to Creator Owner and Administrator, and System.
You can script this using a FOR command and SubInacl (tip 6705 in the 'Tips &
Tricks' at http://www.jsiinc.com) and XCACLS, tip 8225.

delete all of the other users and windows will default your main account to
full permissions.. or start in safemode and click on the administrator which
is wide open, and do everything from there |
