Is it possible to have a share within a share and have
them both replicate correctly? We have numerous shares and
were told by a private consultant that we have to have
them all set to be root shares.

Can you clarify your question? Are you asking whether you can replicate the
shares independently, or whether FRS will replicate the share information of
the nested share?
