Unable to delete DFS share? |
|
|
After experimenting with setting up a DFS share in my
active directory, I was able to delete the "root" within
the DFS MMC, but it still shows in the file structure of
the hosting server (//server/sharethatshouldbegone).
How can I remove this share?
Thanks |

I assume you've been unable to delete the shared folder itself (via Windows
Explorer)? If so, try this KB:
HOW TO: Force Deletion of DFS Configuration Information 224384

Can you describe the type of namespace you had set up (domain/standalone),
the steps you tried (using the KB) and what the results were? This KB
usually works, so I'd like to understand why it failed.

Duh... go to "shared folders" and unshare it from there.
