I have a I have a Compaq iPAQ 3850 running PocketPC 2002 which has worked
fine for the last couple of years. It has a Compaq 128Mb SD Storage Card on
which I keep all my datafiles, and a few program files.

Since yesterday, I can't seem to access any of the files or programs on the
storage card. I have moved the Storage Card to a card reader and run chkdsk
on it. Even though chkdsk has corrected some problems, and correctly
reports 133 files in 50.6Mb out of the 128Mb on the card, when I go to File
Explorer nothing shows apart from a couple of dummy files I have recently
created since the problems started.

Does anyone have any ideas on how I can recover the datafiles please?

Regards

Robin

I used the disk checker on Mac OSX to get around a problem like this...

windows xp scan disk couldn't help :-/ so I guess some other Windows
based tool may be able to help if you can't get to a Mac. Norton maybe??

Hi Robin, I had a similar problem with ny 3870. Compaq was very
supportive and prompt to send me a replacement SD 128 Mb card because
they had a bad batch of cards.

Here is the link and a copy of the page if the link is dead. (the
pictures would not copy, so I wrote the lot numbers of the affected
cards.

I know iT won't make you recover your lost files, but you should be able
to get a replacement card. mine was over 3 years old and they still
exchanged it. no problem since.

I hope this helps you.
