DFS\FRS Not sync some old files |
|
|
DFS replication would appear to have happened from Server
X to server Y successfully (over a week ago) but on
further investigation some files have not replicated.
(22,00 file gone through OK (8gb) but 50 have not (50Mb))
There are also some files still in the frs staging area on
server X.
New files ceated on either server X or Y sucessfully
replicate.
Changing the NTFS security one of the old files in the
hope of causing the files to replicate fails does not work.
A single error is logged in the event log on server Y.
13508 the File replication service is having trouble
enabling replication from server X to server Y.
However all checks regarding name resolution, FRS service
not running etc are negative.
Checked the NTFS security on the files and system has full
rights.
Question _
1.What is the best way of getting the missings files to
replicate.
2.Should I do anything about the files which appear to be
stranded in the frs staging area.
Thanks for any help,
Alistair |

Are you familiar with our FRS monitoring tool called Ultrasound? It can help
you pinpoint the problem and suggest solutions.
