RE: Robocopy Error |

OK...Win XP Pro on both machines, Windows Network(whatever the XP systems
defaults to...basically I just "followed the prompts") I have been physically
doing a copy of my critical data to a FlashDrive (keychain RAM) and
discovered "robocopy". Experimenting to try to automate the process to just
copy "altered" files only, on a daily basis. This would seem sooooo much
easier than wading through the files with Directory lists, eh?
Both machines are idle with NO software running. I use "start", "run" and
type in:
robocopy \\front\pdox\applicat\data \\doctor\Flash\pdox\applicat\data test.txt
The DOS window opens, robocopy begins to run, and then it says "Access
denied - waiting 30 seconds" or something similar. I have a password set for
Win logon on both machines, but both have been entered and both machines are
idling at the normal Windows desktop display.
From this situation, I can copy ANYTHING I want through the Windows Explorer
system but robocopy fails repeatedly?
Cheers

I get an "Access Denied" when attempting a simple peer-to-peer file copy.
Can someone give me an idea of where to start? |
