Isn't comp.arch supposed to be a moderated group? I believe that all
groups that aren't alt.something groups are moderated, although I could
very well be wrong...

If so, who is the moderator?

comp.lang.c doesn't even have a charter (it predates them), and it
certainly isn't moderated. Unmoderated non-alt groups aren't rare at all.

Thanks for the info, I am almost certain that newsgroups predate me, so
