Dear all, Merry Christmas,

I have an unknown broadband signal x(t), centered at 10Mhz, probably 3
periods long. The signal undergoes an unknown homogenous lossy channel
and is reflected. The received singal is r1(t). Following this
reception, the signal undergoes a 2nd transmission and reflection.
Then we have r2(t). And I am to estimate the channel transfer function
as well as the original signal x(t) based on r1(t) and r2(t).

A simple calculation in frequency domain estimation is straightly
applied,
R1(w) = X(w)H(w), and R2(w) = X(w)H(w)H(w). Then H(w) = R2(w)/R1(w),
and X(w)=..., x(t) = ifft(X(w)).

Is this correct? Eventually x(t) should be real, should i use some
real transform such as dct in the calculation?

Thanks.

Lim.
