Hello,

We have 2 Windows 2003 Storage Server NAS's (Dell PV745N's) at our offices.
We would like to implement SharePoint Service for Windows2003. How can we
take advantage of the space on the NAS's?

We know that we can't host SharePoint on the NAS because IIS is not allowed.
Can we then at least install MS SQL2000 on the NAS (MSDE's 2GB limitation
would be too small)?

If not, one work around I can think of is to map a drive from the
SharePoint/SQL server to the NAS and store the SQL data files on this shared
drive. But what are the caveats other than speed (gigabit LAN between the
servers)?

Any advice/suggestions are most appreciated.

Thank you very much,
Chutikorn

SQL installation is blocked on WSS2k3. You can store SQL .dat files on a
NAS share, but I would strongly recommend that you review KB Article Q304261
first.
