IR remote control codes |
|
|
I'm looking for a good resource listing of IR control codes, as used in
universal remotes. Can anyone point me to an online reference?
Thanks,

Thanks! On first inspection, I do not see any listing of codes. There is
a folder that leads to config files that can be used with the Linux
software to support individual devices, but I so far have not discovered
where the format of these config files is specified. All in all, it
looks almost as daunting as simply reverse engineering.

Well, there is more to it than just the 'codes'. Not all remotes use |
the same protocol like the popular RC5. The key code is embedded in
some start/stop/header sequence. Bit times vary. Then one may find
data present in only the duration of either the high level, low level
or even both of a single IR pulse. What does the remote do when you
continuesly press the same key? Things differ there as well.
No wonder the Linux IR people made an effort to capture most found
variations and try to parametrise them. The result may seem daunting,
but it is probably necessary to get close to being truly 'universal'.
What is it that you want to achieve?

I was hoping to find something that would be more easily useful in
connection with an embedded processor (not Linux, thanks.) Something
small, as would actually be used in a universal remote.
