how define topology multiprocessors(computers) |
|
|
dear
Terminology question -:
According to parallel machine textbook, 'topology' refers to the
arrangement of 'router nodes'.
It is unclear for me 'router nodes' refer to 'router' or 'processor'.
In case one 'node' consists of one 'router' and one 'processor', it is
no problem. But in case one router is connected with multiprocessors, I
don't know how to call it.
For example,
----------------------------------------------
'Processor' 1 and 2 - connected to 'router' 1
'Processor' 3 and 4 - connected to 'router' 2
'Processor' 5 and 6 - connected to 'router' 3
'Processor' 7 and 8 - connected to 'router' 4
'Router' 1 - connected to 'router' 2
'Router' 1 - connected to 'router' 3
'Router' 2 - connected to 'router' 4
'Router' 3 - connected to 'router' 4
-----------------------------------------------
Router point of view, this is 'mesh'.
But processor point of view, this is unclear -:
If someone is clear on this, let me know
thankyou |
