MPI Programmer Position Available |
|
|
The Network-Based Computing Laboratory (NBCL) at the Ohio State
University (Department of Computer Science and Engineering) is looking
for an enthusiastic programmer with strong expertise in MPI library
programming, cluster computing, and modern interconnects (InfiniBand,
Myrinet, Quadrics, and 10GigE) to join the group.
The NBCL group is currently involved in research and development of
two high performance MPI packages (MVAPICH and MVAPICH2) for clusters
with InfiniBand interconnect. These packages are currently being used
by more than 240 organizations world-wide. More details on this
project can be obtained by visiting MVAPICH project web page
(http://nowlab.cis.ohio-state.edu/projects/mpi-iba/).
The programmer is expected to take a lead role in this project and
work together with the graduate students, research scientist, and
faculty member in this group to design and develop MPI libraries with
novel features. An ideal candidate should have strong knowledge on
MPI-1 and MPI-2 standards, cluster computing, modern interconnects
(such as InfiniBand, Myrinet, Quadrics, and 10GigE), and
high-performance and scalable MPI library implementations. The
candidate should have good experience in designing and developing
production quality MPI libraries with performance and
scalability. Strong experience in Linux, C programming, Shell
scripting, Perl/Python, etc. is desired. The candidate should also be
familiar with the typical design cycle (design, develop, test, tune,
release, bug fixes, etc.) for producing and maintaining high quality
MPI library and the associated tools and supporting the
distribution. The candidate should have good communication skills and
team working experience. An M.S./B.S. degree in computer science or
computer engineering with a few years of experience (especially
working in a team project) is preferred.
