Offline Files not working |
|
|
I have a system that the Offline files are not totally working. When I
attempt to sync. I receive a message saying that the system is running in
last known good configuration.
I have seen some of the other questions and it would appear that I need the
csccmd 1.1 which I cannot seem to get. I called MS and they gave me the
wrong one. Then said that is all they have.
Can someone e-mail it to me? Also with any suggestions on what switches to
run with it?
More info: I coppied one of the folders to a different location on the
server and now can sync. that folder with no errors. I would move the rest
but there are others who need access to those folders.
Thanks in advance!

Yes - The MS Rep. said that he cannot find version 1.1.
I just recently was able to track down a copy of csccmd 1.1 after many
searches.
Do you have any suggestions as to which switches I should run to fix the
problem I am having?

Offline files was once used successfully and then was turned off for a period
of time (months). Then when I turn it back on the previously selected
folders for offline use are already selected and greyed out so that I can not
remove the selection. That's OK as this is the folder I want to use offline.
However when I attempt to sync. I receive a message stating that it has
failed and says that my system in running Last Known Good Configuration.
To see if offline folders worked at all I copied one of the folders that was
set up to sync. to a different location on the server and set it up for
Offline usage and it works without a problem.
I need these folders to stay in this location for offline sync. as other
users have access to them during the day.
Thanks

The error sounds bogus.
Have you tried removing the offending content from the Offline Files Folder

The box to clear Offline files for this folder is checked for offline files
but greyed out so that I cannot uncheck it. Is there a way to clear this out
so that I can start fresh? I have shut off offline files and turned it back
on and it seems to remember the previous settings which are greyed out.

I ran the csccmd 1.1 with the checkdb switch and it is showing an error 0x4.
How do I find out how to fix that. Also, is there a way to clear it out
completely and start over? Seems that may be easier?
I did a screen shot of the synchronization results - How can I get them to
you to review?
I would really like to get this taken care of as it is very annoying.
Thanks for all your help and patience.

Yes, that deletes the cache / database completely.
So it was almost certainly database corruption.
Glad you're up and running,

Went to Control Panel - Folder Options - Offline Files tab - Held CTRL &

Thanks for checking back.

Sorry, I've been out for a month.
Have you tried the CSCCMD /CHECKDB option?
The error code sounds completely bogus.

Offline files was once used successfully and then was turned off for a
period
of time (months). Then when I turn it back on the previously selected
folders for offline use are already selected and greyed out so that I
can
not
remove the selection. That's OK as this is the folder I want to use
offline.
However when I attempt to sync. I receive a message stating that it has
failed and says that my system in running Last Known Good
Configuration.
To see if offline folders worked at all I copied one of the folders
that
was
set up to sync. to a different location on the server and set it up for
Offline usage and it works without a problem.
I need these folders to stay in this location for offline sync. as
other
users have access to them during the day.
Thanks

Yes - The MS Rep. said that he cannot find version 1.1.
I just recently was able to track down a copy of csccmd 1.1 after
many
searches.
Do you have any suggestions as to which switches I should run to fix
the
problem I am having?

I have a system that the Offline files are not totally working.
When
I
attempt to sync. I receive a message saying that the system is
running
in
last known good configuration.
I have seen some of the other questions and it would appear that
I
need
the
csccmd 1.1 which I cannot seem to get. I called MS and they gave
me
the
wrong one. Then said that is all they have.
Can someone e-mail it to me? Also with any suggestions on what
switches
to
run with it?
More info: I coppied one of the folders to a different location
on
the
server and now can sync. that folder with no errors. I would
move
the
rest
but there are others who need access to those folders.
Thanks in advance!

Re: Offline Files not working |

I'm having a very similar issue to this that I need to correct for a user,
but I can not clear out the offline files cache. The user has made changes to
files and created new files while offline and can not afford to lose them.
Any way t fix this without erasing it all?
