Lab 1
As soon as we opened the computer case, I noticed the Intel Chipset
which had no heatsink. For the main processor, since there was a fan
over the heatsink, we knew that made it an
active heatsink. After removing the fan and the heatsink from the main
processor we saw that it was an Intel Celeron 800 Mhz, with most
likely a 100 Mhz Front Side Bus, and 128K of L2 cache because of the
additional '100' and '128' markings in addition to '800' indicating
clock speed.
The motherboard was a standard ATX formfactor. we saw 39 pins for the
harddrive and 33 pins for the Floppy. The harddrive port was labled
PRI IDE 1. The floppy drive port was labled 'Floppy'. Finally we
noticed there IS a marking to indicate PIN 1, which was a white arrow |
