Zone Changes on MDS9120 take a while to change active zonese |
|
|
Whenever I make a change to zones on my MDS9120 it takes a long time to
change the active zoneset. Since I haven't had formal training yet I
may be missing a step.
1.) Add new zone
2.) Add members to zone
3.) add zone(s) to zoneset
4.) zone commit force
A sh zones shows the changes but sh active zoneset shows the old
information.
Am I doing something wrong? Does the host need to be rebooted for the
new zone to become active?
TIA,
Steve |

How long is too long for you?
Zone changes do take a finite amount of time. Its not instantaneous.
The # of switches you have in your fabric, and the ISL latency also plays a
part.

I don't know how long "too long" is, if there is a finite amount of
time that I need to wait then that is OK as long as I know what that
amount of time is. The thing is that there is only one switch in the
fabric so I guess I just assumed that it would act like a router or
switch and be instantaneous.
Thanks,
Steve
