My payroll application backup utility could not detect my floppy disk.....It
prompt me to insert disk#2 even though the disk is already inserted
(formated)....but when I do the formatting in c:\prompt it
works-detected.What is the difference in two formatting procedure?

How old is your floppy drive? It is possible that it is not consistently
detecting a disk insertion.
