Scheduler exit code 6 from Defrag? |
|
|
All:
I hope this is the right place to ask {blush}. In a complete break with
tradition, I Googled this group back 12 months before posting :-)
I have a Dell 670 dual Zeon with 2GB of memory and a single "C" drive of 205
GB implemented as a SCSI RAID 5. Volume free space is 29 per cent.
I have a Defrag scheduled every Sunday morning. It was starting, then
exiting almost immediately with a return code of 1.
I changed the parameters to add -f. Now, it's exiting almost immediately
with a return code of 6.
Yet when I run defrag from the GUI or the command line, it appears to
complete normally.
What could be wrong? Where can I start looking?
Many thanks for your help

Are you asking about Scheduler error codes? If so this article may help.

Hi Dave:
Thanks, I saw that article, but it doesn't list Exit Code 6?
Cheers

Yes, you'll probably need to get a hold of ntstatus.h and or winerror.h

Thanks, I think... Even if I did obtain those, I wouldn't have a clue
what to do with them...

You can possibly open them with notepad.exe and search out the error.

Thanks Dave:
Let's hope the Windows 95 information still applies to Win XP :-)
Cheers
