Win 98 drvspace Compressed-drives running in Compatibility mode.
I am using Win 98 second edition. I cannot install any new Applications>
Because after a reboot, right-click MyComputer > Properties > Performance:
all my drvspace/dblspace drives are running in "Compatibility Mode". So, all
long-file of folders/files names appear withthe tilda ~. My Applications,
cant start, since the paths are not correct.
My only solution was to restore my backups.
But, I am stuck, I cant install any big new Applications !
In config.sys DRVSPACE.SYS /MOVE never worked even under Win 98
first-edition. But, this was never a problem. Also, Win 98 second-edition is
only using the DBLSPACE.BIN (but this is identical to DRVSPACE.BIN anyway).
Does Win 98 2nd edition, have a limit to the number of programs I can
install ?
Help !!

This group is for Windows XP - most of us have forgotten most of what we
knew of Win98. Ask in a Windows 98 group - eg
